Turkey and Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation in the development of the Transcaspian International Transport Route
On March 04 of this year, the General Director of SEMURG INVEST LLP Nurzhan Marabayev visited Istanbul, Turkey where he got acquainted with the activities of Albayrak Group of Companies.
The parties shared their experience in the development of ports and discussed the possibilities of cooperation. As a result of the negotiations, Mr. Yunus Elmaz, the General Director of Albayrak Inshaat, who is a top manager of Albayrak Holding, and the General Director of SEMURG INVEST LLP Nurzhan Marabayev signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the development of the Transcaspian International Transport Route (TITR). The parties will make every effort to ensure the effective operation of the route. Albayrak is a terminal holder in the Baku port and also operates several ports in Turkey and Africa. The port of Baku is the main receiving port for export cargo moving along the middle route from Kazakhstan ports. Thus, SEMURG INVEST as the owner of terminals in the port of Kuryk on Kazakhstan side and Albayrak as the operator of terminals on Azerbaijani side are interested in increasing cargo turnover along the middle corridor in the direction of China-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan-Europe.
