Semurg Invest joined the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Association

On February 8б 2023, a meeting of the Working Group and the General Meeting of the TCITR Association took place in Almaty.

During the work of the meeting, the participants of the General Meeting were presented with a report on the results of the activities of the Association for 2022. The final report noted a record growth in traffic along the TCITR. So, over the past year, 1.5 million tons of cargo were transported along the TCITR, which is 2.5 times higher compared to 2021. The volume of container traffic amounted to 33 thousand twenty-foot equivalent containers (TEU), which is 33% more than in 2021.

A plan for the volume of cargo transportation along the route for 2023 was approved, and agreements on the issues of running a regular shuttle train on a fixed schedule and creating a single transit product were reached.

The key event was the acceptance of Semurg Invest LLP as a member of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Association of Legal Entities in accordance with the decision of the General Meeting as of February 08, 2023.

On November 7, 2013, within the framework of the New Silk Road II International Transport and Logistics Business Forum in Astana, the leaders of Kazakhstan Temir Zholy National Company JSC, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Georgian Railway JSC signed the Agreement on the Establishment of a Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. In December 2016, the participants of the Coordinating Committee for the Development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route – Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia – decided to establish the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Association.

The TCITR Association today is an organization that unites and represents the interests of a number of countries and companies located on the TCITR, thereby reviving the route of the historical Great Silk Road. It is designed to coordinate the interaction of all participants in the process of cargo transportation along the route from Asia to Europe and vice versa, providing the necessary information support.
